My 10 Rules for Success
1.
Ask Questions, Never Assume
Some people tend to easily
conclude things. They just assume that whatever they will be doing is okay.
However, they ended up disappointed because what they did was ostracized by
others. Or some would end up upset because of the wasted efforts. Considering
that, it’s so much better to ask first. And, especially knowing that most ideas
came from questions. Surely, this can help people attain success. Also, if you
don’t assume you won’t end up disappointed when the results you have expected
didn’t went well.
2.
Take a Leap of Faith
We should take chances. If we
have an idea, and we think it is feasible and great then don’t second guess it
might be a one in a lifetime chance. Grab the opportunity and take the leap. Some
might discourage and halt you from taking a step but if you let that stop you
then you’re not confident enough with your idea. And even so, that goes to show
that you are being affected by what the others are saying about or against you.
If ever you let that happen then you won’t survive the competition. You should
expect that people would bring you down and negate all your positive ideas.
However you just got to believe that you can do it. That is why it’s called a “leap
of faith” because you are taking the choice of believing in what you can do, in
what you do and what you are able to do.
3.
Everyone is Capable that means You too
If people are able to do
something then there is a great possibility that you too can do it like the
rest or even better. Don’t easily give up in things that you like to do. Always
remember that, “Hard work beats talent when Talent doesn’t work hard”. And,
that saying is indeed true. Even if you’ve got the talent but you don’t enhance
it or work better or harder than ever will make your talent dull. Thus, people
who work hard than others excel is because they push to the limit. They learn
more than others. They expand their horizons wider than ever. And, they never
give up learning especially when they are more than determined to achieve their
goals. So, if you like to learn something, even if a lot of people are good
with it, when determination takes over anything is possible. You can always do
better with time and effort put together.
4.
Don’t Complain, instead Look for Solution
Some people when things would go
haywire they ended up doing the blame game. Some ended up pity-partying. Some
end up changing their visions and goals. Some just simply give up. When
everything goes wrong don’t just point fingers to others and making them guilty
for the mishap. You should accept the fact that you have a part in the failure
and thus you are also to blame. When you have accepted things don’t just wait
for the blessings to come or wait for another chance to come. Instead, make
that chance, start looking for a solution. Don’t let yourself get buried in
misery. Look for a way because answer won’t show up in your doorstep. You have
to find your answers so that you’ll be able to have a solution. Stand up again
when you fall and look for things that will help you with your problems because
there’s no mountain that can’t be cross, just believe.
5.
Know your Passion
We all have our hobbies. We call
them hobbies because we like to do it in our free time and when we felt
something like happiness, sadness and etc. However, there are some that we feel
passionate about. And, we should use it to our advantage. When you know your
passion you know your goals. You know what to do, how things work and
especially, why you do it. Most people can be their 100% when they are doing
what they love. That’s why even when things won’t work they’d still feel
positive knowing that it’s what they do. They always knew that it’s only a
little hindrance and things would still work out in the end. When you know your
passion you won’t think that it is work because it’s the thing that you love
doing the most. So, you enjoy every moment that you are working. You are
confident enough to show what you did because you knew that it the thing that
you are best at. Do what you love to do and keep doing it to keep the fire
burning.
6.
Help Others
Others don’t really mind some
people. They will just do their business like usual and leave others to their
own business too. But, when you learn to help others with the help of the
things you do, can boost up your determination. When we help others and when
people love what we are doing, we get more energy and power to do more. It’s
like some energy drink which powers us up to do better. Our hearts burst when
people appreciates what we do. People find love from appreciation and
recognition. We continue to do our best when we have people behind our backs. But,
to help others is one of the most essential rule to success because when we
help people they will continue to favor our work.
7.
Get your Priorities Straight
We need to know why we are doing
these things. We have to know our goals. We have to plan things thoroughly.
Everyone should know their priorities. When you know your priorities you will
always know when or how to get back on track, especially those times that you
are getting side-tracked. Priorities sometimes change over time. But, you
always have to have priority queue so that you will know what should come first
and what should go last. Some gets easily side-tracked that they would forget
why they were doing their work. Or they would forget to prioritize the most
essential subjects over the trivial ones. There is a long way ahead of us and
thus there are a lot of possibilities that we get side-tracked. But, we always
need to remember when to get back or how to get back so that we can continue to
move forward rather than ending up going in circles.
8.
Keep your feet on the Ground
People who are already successful
forgets the things that lead them to where they are. They boast too much and
they let power get to their heads making them over confident. And, when people
became too proud of themselves they would end up overestimating their self-worth
and underestimating others. However, people who end up like that is expected to
fail one way or another. Thinking you are better than anybody especially when
competitions are everywhere is plain stupid. You have to keep your feet planted
on the ground and not let praises get to your head so that you will keep the
same attitude you have when you were still in the lowest of the pyramid. Stay
humble, inspire humility so that when you work with others they would also show
the same attitude in work. When you are humble you will always be the
challenger, always the striving one, the hard working and the one who feels the
people who are still thriving for success.
9.
Be People Person
When we are people person we tend
to get along well with crowd. We are comfortable with people in every aspects. And,
when we are like that we know what they need and want. We know how things work
for them. By knowing people you can easily create an outline for ways to
connect them with things. You will know what or which would be better and the
things that they would benefit most. If you knew what they prefer you will also
know how to help them or please them. But, always remember that knowing things
and applying things can have different results. Theories and real life
situations might or might not end up having the same results. Thus, never ever
easily conclude.
10.
Learn from Mistakes
One needs to learn from their
mistakes so that they won’t repeat it again, when the time comes that they will
be facing the same problems. If you learn from your mistakes that means you
didn’t let pride get the best of you. All you have to do is accept it and learn
from it. If you make the same mistake twice then it’s already a choice. Don’t
fool yourself in believing that you can solve the same mistake with the same
solution. However, take another route, a route that is better than the previous
one. Be smart enough to think of things that are better rather than things that
easier. Sometimes we need to pass through a long road before getting to the
finish line because taking a shortcut can’t always be a solution. Life has a
lot of lessons, learn from it and always remember not to make the same mistake
twice.
We all have different Rules for
Success. Most of the time we end up changing it a little because we’ve learned
that some rules are better than the other. Or it’s because we’ve learned things
through our experiences. But either way having Rules for Success will guide us,
especially when we are taking the path of becoming someone great enough to make
a change in the world.
